sue.jpg The part played by FOSKD in the successful completion of the refurbishment project of the St Katharine Docks Medical Practice received good coverage in the local press, click here for the article about the official opening held on 30th January. The support given by FOSKD to the Practice also featured in the remarks made by Jim Fitzpatrick MP in the Debate on "Building Sustainable GP Services" held in the House of Commons on the 5th February. We await a response from the Minister of Health on the further questions we have raised and also for news of a further meeting Jim Fitzpatrick is hoping to arrange for Dr Patel in Westminster to discuss the future financing of the Practice. We are very grateful for all the help given by our MP and the many people who worked with us and Dr Patel and his team to make the refurbishment of the Surgery such a success.

We have some great events coming up some of which are detailed below - including details of a special theatre offer which you will need to act swiftly on to secure a place! We will be sending out individual emails to all members shortly with details of how to renew your annual FOSKD membership – we are doing this in good time for the renewal date of 1st April partly because our Hon. Secretary will be abroad closer to that date and is keen to make sure you all have your new membership cards before the start of the new year so you don't miss the opportunity to claim your valuable concessions!
