Dear Friends

sueWe are pleased to bring you news of our summer party at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine's on 4th June – we do hope you can join us for what I am sure will be a lovely evening at this hidden gem just a short distance from St Katharine Docks. We have some news about changes to our Executive Committee - Carole Harling whom many of you will know, is standing down from the Committee, having been involved with the administration of the Association from the very early days. Carole & her husband have moved away from London following Kevin's retirement but happily they will remain as members and we hope that we will see them at events when they are in London. We are very grateful to Carole for the outstanding contribution she has made to the success of our Association over so many years. Jo Sandhu who has also been an excellent member of the Committee for many years, stood down a few months ago at our AGM where we were able to thank her in person, so we are pleased to now welcome members Clare McGregor & Patricia O'Higgins who have kindly agreed to join the Committee.

Your Committee looks forward to welcoming you to an event soon!

Concession Scheme News

Sargeant's Mess

mess The Restaurant formerly known as the Perkin Reveller (just inside the east gate of the Tower of London) is now home to Sargeant's Mess, a new restaurant run by Restaurateur, Mark Sargeant. This all-day restaurant, bar and deli, has been created in collaboration with independent hospitality group, CH&Co, and Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for the Tower of London.

Set within the Tower of London environs, Sargeant's Mess will pay homage to the heritage of this historic location with a menu of modern British seasonal dishes for which Sargeant has become known. The menu, created by Mark with head chef Simon Oakley – who has worked with Mark for over five years – will focus on British classics with their signature twists.

Mark has won numerous awards, including Chef of the Year when he was Head Chef at "Gordon Ramsay at Claridges". He now has a number of his own restaurants including the highly acclaimed Rocksalt Restaurant in Folkestone. We are delighted that Sargeant's Mess has joined our concession scheme.

For their opening week ending Thursday 10th May members will be eligible for a third off the food bill on production of your membership card. From 11th May, the offer to members will be 20%off food only.
